Insights will be incorporated into the upcoming final version of Frontier 100’s report on B2B partnerships.
- Catalyzing Investment for Business Expansion: CEOs met with investors to improve perceptions of Africa’s investment opportunities. After, investors surveyed, including several who had not previously considered investments in Africa, pledged to increase their investment allocation to the continent.
Following the Frontier 100 Forum in New York City, IGD organized meetings for interested African CEOs in Washington, D.C. with a number of U.S. government agencies focused on increasing investment and economic development in Africa. The purpose of the meetings was to generate increased awareness of major U.S. government development initiatives that stimulate private sector activity in Africa as well as the availability of tools and resources to help support private investment with development impact.
In Washington, D.C., Three Frontier 100 CEOs – Joseph C. Brandt (Contour Global), Paul T. Hanrahan (AES Corporation) and Robert A. Mosbacher, Jr. (Mosbacher Energy Corporation and formerly OPIC) spoke on a panel at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) on investing in Africa’s power sector.
