Drive growth and investment

"The most tried and tested route out of poverty is employment. The successful homegrown African companies we invest in provide good jobs and contribute to wealth creation in the economy more generally. If these companies are helped to grow further, then the developmental benefits are clear."
- Papa Madiaw Ndiaye, Founding Partner and CEO, AFIG Funds

Broad-based economic growth and business expansion are imperative for lasting poverty reduction. Business has an important role to play in increasing economic opportunities around the world. IGD seeks to help companies maximize their global poverty impact by driving growth and investment in developing countries.

Focus on Africa and Agriculture
Africa presents tremendous potential for business growth as well as agricultural growth and poverty reduction. As part of its strategy to increase investment in agriculture, IGD is facilitating African business participation in the U.S. government's Feed the Future program and African-led plans such as The Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP).
