The Initiative For Global Development (IGD) and the General Confederation of Enterprises of Côte d’Ivoire, a network of business leaders, signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Dec. 13, to promote private sector investment and advance inclusive growth in Africa.

The signing of the MOU between the two organizations was held at the House of Enterprise, headquarters of the General Confederation of Enterprises of Côte d’Ivoire (CGECI) in Abidjan, the capitol ofCôte d’Ivoire. The MOU aims to build stronger alliances between prominent members of the CGECI and the IGD Frontier Leader Network.

IGD President Mima S. Nedelcovych was joined at the MOU signing by President of CGECI, Jean -Marie Ackah; Deputy Executive Director of CGECI; Marcellin Zinsou, Member of the Management Committee; and Mr. Amangoua, Vice-President of the Commission International Affairs and Cooperation.

The partnership will also leverage the African Investment Rising campaign to transform perceptions on investment in the African market among  US investors and will serve as a catalyst for greater investment in agribusiness value chains.

For the IGD reducing poverty efficiently and sustainably could only be achieved with a strong private investment to stimulate growth and enable economic development.
