AIR Campaign: Afreximbank’s Hippolyte Fofack Pens Article on Why ‘A Connected Africa Competes Better’

Dr. Hippolyte Fofack, Chief Economist & Director forResearch & International Cooperation for the African Export-Import Bank, speaks at the Frontier 100 Forum

 

Dr. Hippolyte Fofack, Chief Economist & Director for Research & International Cooperation for the African Export-Import Bank, penned an article in the Global Public Investor magazine on the African Continental Free Trade Area (CFTA). Afreximbank is a Collaborating Partner of IGD.

In the article, Dr. Fofack writes about how the free trade agreement will strengthen intraAfrica trade to bolster  the continent’s global competitiveness and enhance their integration into the global economy. The CFTA is expected to create a single market of 1.2 billion people with a GDP of $2.5 trillion.

 

In time, the emergence of ‘Factory Africa’ and the strengthened integration of Africa-based businesses into the global economy will help set the world on the path towards truly global value chains.
