The African Development Bank and the Rockefeller Foundation, will host the 2018 Annual Leadership for Agriculture (L4Ag) Forum on November 6, 2018, at the Protea Hotel Balalaika. The forum, organized with support from the Initiative for Global Development (IGD), is entitled “Advancing Bold Leadership for Africa’s Agribusiness Investment: Scaling Up Industrial Parks and Special Crops Processing Zones”.


More than 150 African public and private sector leaders, including African Ministers of Agriculture, Finance and Trade as well as other institutional leaders, will gather to discuss and plan actions for

  • Removing critical policy barriers and expanding opportunities for accelerating innovative financing
  • Achieving greater access to innovative African and global technologies, and
  • Creating champions of Africa’s agricultural revolution


Event speakers will share their experiences and lessons learned on accelerating agribusiness growth, increasing public and private sector investment, accessing productive technologies and changing policies to stimulate agribusiness growth to boost jobs and agricultural prosperity.

The L4Ag Forum is a unique platform for public and private sector leaders to interact, learn from each other and strategize on how to overcome challenges hampering agricultural and economic growth on the continent. The Forum was started by the Rockefeller Foundation and several leading institutions, including AGRA and IFAD, and is one of African Development Bank’s Agriculture Department flagship programs.
