IGD Government Affairs Office engages and mobilizes its Frontier Leader Network of African and global companies to advocate in the national and international policy arenas for policy priorities that shape U.S.-Africa policy and to create an enabling environment in Africa’s private sector to flourish.

Many companies operating on the continent often face inefficient regulations, lack of infrastructure, or a need for improved or advanced agricultural inputs. It can be difficult for one company to solve these issues alone – solutions can be too costly or risky. Similarly, creating necessary policy changes in government and other stakeholder’s policies requires collective action.

IGD’s policy engagement offers action-oriented, real-world solutions to the halls of U.S. Congress and continent-wide gatherings with African high-level officials to create a more efficient and vibrant business climate on the continent.
