Between 10 to 12 million youth are expected to enter Africa’s labor market each year over the next decade, the African Development Bank estimates, yet only three million formal jobs are created annually.
Given the urgent need for job creation across the continent, the IGD Spring Frontier 100 Forum will highlight private sector action in driving solutions and innovation to accelerate sustainable employment for African youth entering the workforce and advance the continent’s growth sectors for inclusive growth.
In a video spotlight, IGD President Dr. Mima S. Nedelcovych outlines why this year’s forum is critical in mobilizing private sector action to create jobs and address the youth bulge in Africa.
The Spring Forum, to be held on May 5-6, 2017, in Durban, South Africa, will focus on the theme, “Driving Sustainable Economies: Private Sector Action to Spur Job Creation and Innovation for Inclusive Growth in Africa”.
