The Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, Inc. will hold this week its 48th Annual Legislative Conference (ALC), on September 12-16, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.
Some 10,000 people from across the world are expected to attend this year’s conference, which will offer more than 90 forums on public policy issues.
Congresswoman Karen Bass (D-CA) will host the Africa Braintrust, as part of the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s Annual Legislative Conference, on September 14, from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM at the Convention Center.
The event will focus on a contemporary exploration of diversity on the continent. Panel topics include: Contradictions: Society and Governance; Opportunities: Doing Business in Africa; and Engagement: Africa in the Global World.
Congressmember Karen Bass is an advocate for robust trade and investment-oriented relationships between the U.S. and the nations of Africa with the goal of not only expanding relations, but securing and increasing jobs here at home and in Africa. Congressmember Bass places a priority on developing strong economic between the U.S. and Africa and serves as a Ranking Member of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Africa.
