4 Types of Fencing Material Best for Commercial Installation

Privacy and security are two major concerns for a commercial property owner. Securing the perimeter involves not only installing a fence but making sure that the material is durable. Not all types of fencing are suitable for commercial installation. And in addition to security, it’s also critical to consider whether the fence adds aesthetic value to the property. Of course, if you’re adding a fence around a factory, appearance comes in second. Besides, weighing the pros and cons of every fencing option will ensure that you choose the right style and material that fits all requirements.

Commercial fencing contractors offer a variety of options to their clients. There are popular choices that come in easy-to-install panels, while some choose to have fencing customised. The following are the most common fencing materials used for business installation as well as for properties intended for public use.

  • Wood or timber fence

Wooden fencing is commonly associated with residential applications. But, it can also be an attractive choice for business premises and commercial spaces. Wood has a natural and soft appeal that complements traditional architecture. Timber fencing may also be reinforced to become more durable and resistant to wear and tear. Many building developments choose wooden fencing for its aesthetic appeal, optimum privacy, and excellent value for money.

  • Mesh fencing

One of the primary advantages of mesh fencing is the option to custom-install it at an increased height. Since mesh is a lighter material, it won’t sag when installed higher than standard measurements. This type of fence is ideal for sports grounds and open commercial grounds like parking lots.

Chain-link is another type of mesh fencing that’s popular for commercial installation. It’s a good option for farms and similar properties where you need to enclose a large area. Mesh and chain-link fences are also suitable for temporary installation. If the commercial property is a rental, chain-link fences are the least expensive, and easiest to install, yet offer a high level of security.

  • Vinyl fencing

Vinyl is a synthetic material that’s also durable and long-lasting. This type of material can be manufactured to mimic the appearance of wood. It’s suitable for commercial properties where privacy and appearance are essential considerations. It can resist impact, won’t rot, and requires little maintenance. There are also different styles available such as picket vinyl fence which looks great installed outside retail shops and restaurants.

  • Iron railings

This type of fence is a more permanent type of commercial installation. Iron or steel is highly durable and long-lasting. To prevent corrosion, you may opt to have added galvanisation. Iron railings are a popular choice for public places such as schools and playgrounds. This type of fence is resistant to impact, which makes it the safest choice for places where people gather. Another benefit of iron railings is the option to customise the style and make it more aesthetically pleasing. The railings may be as narrow or as wide as needed. One downside to iron railings is that they are not suitable for rental properties. Since they are semi-permanent, removal could be costly.
