When was Contour Global founded?
Contour Global was initially founded in 2005 by Joseph Brandt and the Reservoir Capital Group.
What is Contour Global’s mission?
Contour Global’s mission is to develop and acquire wholesale power generation in different countries and regions. Contour Global is also committed to investing in a wide variety of fuel types. Some of the fuel types which Contour Global invests in includes thermal energy and renewable sources of energy such as hydro, solar and wind based power.
Contour Global is an international business:
Currently Contour Global operates in 18 countries and 3 continents. Furthermore the company currently owns 107 power plants worldwide. As an international business Contour Global does seek to create profitable investment opportunities for its investors.
Contour Global Rwanda:
Contour Global marked Rwanda as the perfect site for a new project and currently operates the KivuWatt gas and water extraction plant. Which is the only dual water and gas extraction plant in existence. The plant is named after the lake where it is based, Lake Kivu. Which boasts naturally high levels of both methane and carbon dioxide.
Contour Global’s aim is to extract methane from Lake Kivu in order to be able to generate affordable, reliable electricity for Rwandan households. An admirable goal as Rwanda is deemed a high growth company. Which will have an increased demand for affordable, reliable electricity in the decades to follow.
Philanthropic work:
Contour Global is passionate about giving back to the communities which it operates within and completes a lot of philanthropic work in Rwanda. As examples, Contour Global teaches local communities how to farm and fish in a sustainable manner. So that they won’t exhaust their natural resources. Contour Global also runs an AIDs awareness campaign to teach locals about the spread of HIV.
Contour Global also invests in future generations of Rwandans and has refurbished several schools in the area. As an example, the organization was responsible for building the very first library at Gausura Primary School.
