The Foundation for the Partnership Initiatives in the Niger Delta is a non profit organization:

The Foundation for the Partnership Initiatives in the Niger Delta is a non profit organization which was founded in Nigeria. The foundation is often referred to by the acronym PIND.

It has two primary missions:

The PIND has two primary missions. The first of which is to stimulate economic growth in the Niger Delta by offering equitable economic developments. The PIND’s secondary mission is to promote long term peace, in the Niger Delta through the creation of innovative, mutually beneficial partnerships.

It offers a succesful youth training program:

One of the foundation’s success stories is its youth training program. Which gives local youths between the ages of 16 and 30 the opportunity to undergo technical training to pursue a career in the construction industry, the ICD industry, the leather production industry or Nigeria’s growing aquaculture industry.

The foundation believes that the Niger Delta’s economy will grow from strength to strength if its youth are provided technical opportunities and careers. As in the past many students, especially students from impoverished families in the Niger Delta, would not have the means, resources or support to pursue such opportunities.

It runs a peacekeeping response team which is active throughout the Niger Delta:

The Foundation for the Partnership Initiatives in the Niger Delta runs a peacekeeping response team which is active in all 9 states in the Niger Delta region. The foundation’s key target area, when it comes to peacekeeping is the river states, the Delta states, the Ondo states and the Bayelsa states. All of which have a history of violent conflict.

It supports new business industries:

Some of the new business industries which are supported by the PIND include the cassava industry, the aquaculture industry, the palm oil industry. As well as the energy production industry. All of which have been chosen for their long term potential.
