Best Low Maintenance Garden Tips

Having a stunning garden is any homeowner’s dream. Keeping up with maintaining and caring for your garden, whether it be a small area or an open space, can take up time. Here are our best low maintenance garden tips that will make your life a whole lot greener.

Lay Down Artificial Grass

If you want a care-free garden, lay down cheap artificial grass. It’s a synthetic switch for grown grass but looks even more luscious. With a natural look, artificial grass can be bought in any shade of green to suit your space. The best thing about it is you won’t need to tend to it as you would with regular grass.

Low maintenance is what you get with cheap artificial grass. Come rain or shine, your garden will look freshly cut without needing to be watered. Its thickness of 25-40mm means your feet will be constantly cushioned under the bouncy surface. Not to mention that pets can’t kick up dirt or create uneven patches in your grass!

Plant Shrubbery

Shrubbery is a fantastic addition to any garden, as it doesn’t need tending to very often at all. You can choose seasonal shrubbery, such as Azalea or Lilac, which will bring a pop of colour to your blissful garden.

As well as being easy to take care of, shrubbery provides shade for you to relax in and a place for pets to cool off. Long-lasting and cost-effective, it’ll take pride in your garden for years to come.

Buy Potted Plants

You really can’t go wrong with potted plants, as they thrive in their designated soil. You’ll need to give them water to help them grow, but besides that, they’ll happily adjust to life in their plant pot. Choose flowers such as Geraniums, Petunias and Hydrangeas to spruce up your garden with a range of colour.

Install Sprinklers

If you want to stick to a home-grown lawn, install some sprinklers. Having automatic sprinklers will save you the need to hope for rain or refill your watering can. Investing in a set of sprinklers will keep your garden looking healthy all by itself. You could even set the sprinklers to water flowers at the side of your garden too!

Add Some Fun for all the Family

A brilliant way to bring fun to your garden, no matter if you have children or you just enjoy having friends over, add some fun to your space. Equipment such as foldable football goals, a small tennis net or a slip n slide will add lots of laughs to your home.

If you have children running around your feet, purchase a swing set or a climbing frame suitable for your garden. You can relax and enjoy your low maintenance space whilst everyone plays the day away! If you do lay down artificial grass, it’ll be able to take the weight of a slide or seesaw too. Memories can be made easily and you can fall in love with your garden with no fuss at all.

Go for a Minimalistic Look

Having a garden with a minimalistic look won’t leave you with too much to worry about. Add some lounge furniture to bring a homely feel to the area with a parasol for warm, sunny days.

When it comes to creating a minimalist garden, a lot of homeowners install a water feature. This creates a relaxing atmosphere whilst bringing life to your garden. You could choose a flowing birdbath to encourage chirping birds and wildlife to visit, or a small pond to inhabit some Carp. Sprinkle a little fish food in to keep them happy, and you’ll have an animal-friendly garden that visitors will love.
