Quick Hacks to Add Pops of Colour to Your Home

Having a home that radiates positivity often comes from choosing colours that fit your personality. Being comfortable and happy in your environment is the most important thing about any house, which makes it a home. It’s time to refresh your colour palette with these quick hacks that will brighten up every room.

Make the Floors Shine With Laminate Flooring

A great way to add a pop of colour to your home is by installing cheap laminate flooring. Inexpensive with a luxury appearance, laminate flooring slots together easily with a tongue-and-groove system. You can get a professional to install it for you or even do it yourself (with a helping hand).

Laminate flooring is an absolute must in modern homes, as its classy look can be bought in all sorts of colours. Made from pressed wood, the enriched colour shines through even though it’s different to hardwood flooring. The glossy surface of laminate flooring makes it even more eye-catching!

The flooring is popularly laid in kitchens, as the boards have high durability. Despite any spills or food that runs wild, laminate flooring keeps sparkling as it can easily be cleaned. It’s scratch-resistant too, which is a huge bonus.

Decorate a Feature Wall

Feature walls are a beautiful way to add layers to your home, along with a variety of colours. You don’t need to pick rainbow patterns, you can always stick to two consistent colours and mix them throughout a room.

For example, a feature wall could be decorated in patterned or floral wallpaper. Whereas the other walls will be painted one colour out of the two. Then, put a mirror or photo frame in the centre of the featured wall. Your room will become more artistic with this simple colour trick. Not to mention that mirrors reflect and bounce light around a room without any extra work.

Buy Some House Plants

If you’re a nature lover, buying house plants will add a sustainable pop of colour to your home. Great for an increase in oxygen and bringing peace wherever they’re placed, house plants add a new burst of life to a room.

Although they do require to be cared for, house plants make for a stunning addition to bedrooms and living rooms in particular. They bring good energy, especially plants such as Orchids and Lilies. Keep them out of direct sunlight and well hydrated, and watch your house plants blossom day by day.

Throw Cushions Make a Difference

You wouldn’t believe how much throw cushions make a difference to the colour of a home. Scatter some cushions about your sofa, and leave them in nooks and crannies around comforting areas for a lovely touch. It’s best to choose cushions that have a contrasting colour to a piece of furniture, e.g. Silver cushions on a dark leather couch. This way, they will stand out and give that extra pop you need.

Clear Your Windows

It may seem obvious, but windows play a huge role in adding pops of colour to your home. Clear the window sills of any clutter, reducing personal belongings to a minimalistic look. Have the windows cleaned, or do it yourself, and you’ll notice the sunshine streaming in a whole lot more. Natural light should never be taken for granted, as it’s always there to bring colour to any room.

You don’t need to clear your windows of curtains, as they can look gorgeous and vibrant against pale rooms. Choose a sharp mustard yellow or a piercing rose-red to add a dramatic strike of colour. Or, style the window with light drapes and soft blinds. The more natural light, the better. Either way, these are great ways to add pops of colour to your home with little work.
